Recycled Shopping Bags

I have been saving up plastic shopping bags for a while now, and occasionally make a few beads with them. I thought they might be kind of cool all strung together for a funky necklace. I have to give credit to Carmel - my Mum - for this idea, she strung a bundle of her fibre beads up, to road test them for durability, with a view to use them amongst her hand blown glass beads...her quick little test piece really appealed to me, so I decided to explore the idea a little further myself. One day, I will get my Etsy shop up and running, and I thought these could be a great inclusion - with recycling being such a popular activity these days, not to mention that they should be pretty inexpensive.

All they are, is strips of plastic bag, wrapped and wound around a satay stick and zapped with a heat gun for a sec. I rubbed a little gilding wax on them, which highlights the twists and bumps nicely, I think! Strung with some little gold seed beads, I thought it turned out kinda cool!
